Second Circular

This is the second announcement of the 20th International IUPAP Conference on Few-Body problems in Physics.
The conference will be held at Fukuoka International Congress Center in Fukuoka city, Japan from August 20th to 25th, 2012.
The first conference of this series took place in London in 1959 and subsequent meetings were held in Brela (1967), Birmingham (1969), Budapest (1971), Los Angeles (1972), Laval (1974), Delhi (1976), Graz (1978), Eugene (1980), Karlsruhe (1983), Sendai (1986), Vancouver (1989), Adelaide (1992), Williamsburg (1994), Groningen (1997), Taipei (2000), Durham (2003), Santos (2006) and Bonn (2009).

2. Conference Venue
The scientific program of the conference will be held in the building Fukuoka International Congress Center which belongs to the foundation of the Fukuoka Convention Center, which is located in the Fukuoka city.
Fukuoka city is situated on the northern shore of the island Kyushu in Japan.

3. Structure of Conference
The scientific program of the conference is organized in plenary and parallel sessions. Plenary talks are by invitation only.
Parallel sessions will feature invited speakers and presentations of research selected from abstracts submitted to the conference.
In addition to the conference presentations there will also be a poster session.

5. Abstract Submission
All participants are invited to submit abstracts of their contributions.
The abstract contributions should be submitted either as PDF or MS-Word files via the conference web site. LaTeX and MS-Word templates can be downloaded from the web site.

The submission of the abstract via conference web site will be open in February 20, 2012.

To submit abstract, you need to register and have your account via the conference web site. (See below.)
Part of the received contributions will be selected for oral presentations.
A fraction of those not selected will be recommended for a poster presentation.
The decision will be communicated to the authors by email.

Deadline for abstract submission is April 30, 2012.

6. Proceedings
The conference proceedings will include invited and selected papers as well as a list of posters. It will be published in the Journal “Few-Body Systems”. A copy of the proceedings will be sent to each registered participant.

7. Registration
In order to attend the conference it is absolutely necessary to complete the on-line registration through the conference web page. Since the final circular will be sent to those who register, we strongly recommend you to register as soon as possible.

Registration can be made through the conference web page by the following procedure:
(1) Visit the conference web page.
(2) Click the [Registration] button.
(3) Click the [Go to the Registration Page] button to enter an entry page to web-registration system.
(4) Follow instructions for “a First Time User of this system” to create a new Login ID.
(5) After making your account, you will be automatically logged in My page, from which you can modify your information, submit your abstracts, make a reservation for your accommodation, and pay registration fee by a credit card.

Once you have a Login ID, you can login to My Page from the entry page, which can be reached through the conference web page by the procedure (1)-(3) above.

8. Registration fee
The fee covers the conference dinner (for conference participants) and proceedings.

Early registration fee (until 20 July):
35,000 Japanese Yen (Regular)
20,000 Japanese Yen (Students)

After 21 July: Registration fee:
40,000 Japanese Yen (Regular)
25,000 Japanese Yen (Students)

You can pay the registration fee via the conference web page. On-line payment is only accepted by credit card. Available credit cards are:
VISA, MASTER, AMEX, JCB, Diners Club.

If you have no credit card, please contact the FB20 secretary.

A reduced fee may also be granted to people who need support for participating in the conference. If this is the case please contact the organizers as soon as possible.

Accompanying persons are welcome to participate in the conference dinner (5,000 Japanese Yen). The cost can be paid either through the on-line payment or at the registration desk by cash or credit card.

9. Accommodation
You can make a hotel reservation for your accommodation through the conference web page, where you can find that a travel agency ‘JTB’ provides some nice accommodations.

We have left Wednesday afternoon free for social events. We do not plan to have an organized tour but rather will provide suggestions for possible activities.
