The 1st R-CCS International Symposium(2/18-19)

The 1st R-CCS International Symposium
— K and Post-K: Simulation, BigData and AI supporting Society 5.0 —

February 18-19, 2019, Kobe International Conference Center, Kobe, Japan
official site: https://www.r-ccs.riken.jp/R-CCS-Symposium/2019/

The RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) operates and utilizes the K computer efficiently and effectively to serve as an international research center for collaborations in and the integration of computational science and computer science. R-CCS and Fujitsu are now developing the successor of the K computer, called the Post-K computer, based on an Arm architecture. It will be capable of 100 times higher performance than the K computer for some applications. The early access program will begin in 2020.

In Japan, a series of efforts to realize a “super smart society” or the so-called Society 5.0, where cyber space and physical space (or real society) are highly integrated, have been conducted under the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan started. The Post-K will play an important role for IoT, BigData and AI in Society 5.0, in addition to the application fields of the K computer. In order to sustain such a large-scale HPC infrastructure, it is important to construct an ecosystem on a global scale.

The 1st R-CCS International Symposium will summarize the efforts of the K computer, retired in 2019, as well as discuss the emergent
application fields for Post-K and Arm HPC ecosystem. The symposium consists of oral/poster sessions, invited talk sessions, and panel
discussion sessions. We invite submissions of abstracts for oral/poster presentations. Presentations are encouraged that address topics including, but not limited to, the following:
– Applications developed for the K computer and further developments
– Applications for Post-K
– The Arm HPC ecosystem

Abstracts must be written in English and should not exceed 400 words. Authors should submit their abstracts through the following the easy chair site:https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=rccsis1
If you do not have an easy chair account, please create your account and register your manuscript.
